** AUSTRALIA. 11870, March 30 at 1458, S7 music, announcement in
English by Reach Beyond about next program, IS and ID. HFCC shows
1450-1500 & 1500-1530, 100 kW, 320 degrees from KNX in Myanmarianese,
nowhere near thisaway, but T/E advantaged. Had I tuned at 1400-1430,
RBA should have aired `Wavescan` for first time, instead of Nepali
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** AZORES. 17946 USB, April 2 at 2214, selcall tones and ATC contact
mentioning Santa Maria, so probably there among many others on
frequency over N Atlantic and Canadian Arctic routes, per Klingenfuß
2022 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** BELIZE. 28258 CW, March 31 at 2210, VVV DE V31HQ/B and EEEEEEEEEE -
WGB list: ``28258.0 V31HQ/B - Belmopan BLZ EK57nf - #0/1 (22 Mar 2025)
Note: VVV ID + grid + E × 10 - Pwr 10w``. QRZ.com: ``V31HQ Belize flag
Belize, BARC Headquarter * * * Club - Contest - Event Station * Belize
Amateur Radio Club, Maya Hill Rd, Blackman Eddy,
Belmopan POB159, Belize. The BEACON page you'll find here:
https://www.qrz.com/db/V31HQ/B
The Belize Amateur Radio Club shack (V31HQ) has burned down. Nobody
was injured, however Andre V31DL (owner of the shack) has lost ALL
equipment. If you would like to help the rebuilding of V31HQ please
donate via the Donate button on the BARC website at https://barc.bz
Thanks for your generous help`` - that was almost 4 years ago; now
with long list of contributors (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** BRAZIL. 15189.8, March 30 at 0123, JBA carrier, even unto indoor
randomwire strung around ceilings of two rooms during lightning storm.
Got to be R. Inconfidência on signature offset (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** BRAZIL. 6180-, April 1 at 0147, too weak and off-frequency, so to
11780 for much-publicized new English & Spanish segments from RNA.
S9+5/25 direct with deep fading. It`s already in Spanish, apparently a
saludos call from someone about the Spanish about to start. Brazuguese
DJ replies and says good-night. 0148 YL ID in English, interview with
someone in Pará in November, about the culture of Pará and Amazonia.
Voice-over translation, with PP QRM in the background! Please, SW
reception is hard enough without self-QRM. We`ll trust you to be
translating accurately! Besides, even a native could not follow the
underspeech, just loud enough to be annoying. 0153 ID as Radio
Nacional Brasil International Service, Portuguese ID, Spanish,
apparently same topic, voice-over this time in Spanish with Brazilian
accent. 0157 pause for a few words of unobstructed Brazuguese, and
wrapup. 0157 Portuguese ID as RNB Serviço Internacional, and RNA on
6180, 11780, website, 980. 0158 R Nacional jingle and other music
until 0200 some other PP program. Well, we`re glad they are making the
effort to speak a bit of our language, but hope it improves (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** BRAZIL. 11780.009, April 2 at 0149, RNA with another English
segment, S9/+10 into Georgia SDR, part 2 of last night`s interview
with culture minister of Pará state, something about urbanity, forests
and islands. This time the original sound seems faded down completely
during English translation, once ``established``. 0154 Brazuguese ID,
then same in Spanish with Brazilian accent. 0158 outro, s/off of 6180
& 11780, ref to web and MW 980 and off* by 0200 (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** CANADA. 328 MCW kHz, April 1 at 0647 UT, dash and YTL, 1000-watt
NDB at Big Trout Lake ON; I was tuned to 329 and hearing only this
instead of usual PMV, 25 watts at Plattsmouth NE. Canadians in? One
other JBA now, of course:

346 MCW kHz, April 1 at 0649, YXL, 1000 watts at Sioux Lookout ON.
BTW, these two are 438 km = 272 stmi apart in almost the same direxion
from here, YTL being the further one closer to Hudson Bay, on the
shore of the lake called Big Trout Lake, which is 2034 km = 1264 stmi
from here (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CANADA. 2749 USB, March 31 at 0635, YL marine weather JBA in noise
level, nothing on 2598. Extensive sked at
https://www.ccg-gcc.gc.ca/publications/mcts-sctm/ramn-arnm/part2-eng.html
shows nothing on 2749 at this hour, i.e. between starts at 0437 by VCF
Les Escoumins, and 0740 UT by VCO Port Caledonia. Similar in EiBi. So
now I`m wondering if the whole sked be really an hour earlier after
the imposition of DST, or is this an urgent special unscheduled (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. 9540, March 30 at 1459, Chinese, S6/S8. HFCC A25 shows
1500-1530 only, CNR in Zho = Chinese, 150 kW at 340 degrees. EiBi A25
shows this span only is to jam RTI in Cantonese, but SOH is also on
9540 for much longer hours (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CHINA. 13690, April 2 at 2218, S9+10/20 with heavy flutter,
hi-pitched singing, Chinese? announcement, then definitely Spanish.
HFCC shows CRI at 2100-2300, 500 kW, 315 degrees from SZG site =
Shijiazhuang, which is just SW of Beijing per WRTH map, to CIRAF 37NW
= Spain (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA [and non]. 1040 kHz, March 28 at 0639 UT, wobbler below WHO.
No others at the moment, like 550, 650, 870 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA [non]. 9490, March 30 at 0132, R. República announcing its
sked daily 9-10 pm on 9490, M-F also 10-11 pm on 5800. I.e. in EDT, so
01-02 UT daily 9490 via FRANCE; 02-03 UT Tue-Sat on 5800 WRMI. No
jamming audible now, as it seems DCJC has stopped all jamming? not
just of gone R. Martí on SW (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** CUBA [non]. 11860, 11930, 13820, March 27 at 1955, R. Martí still
absent from Greenville SW, altho reportedly has resumed on MW 1180
from FlaKeys (Glenn Hauser, OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2288)

** FRANCE. 9605-9610-9615, April 2 at 0607, DRM noise at S9+25. HFCC
shows irregular from TDF ISS, two different entries at 06-07, both
expiring 010625 = 1 June instead of entire A25 season to 261025: 100
kW, 280 degrees for CIRAF 27W = British Isles; and 100 kW, 232 degrees
for CIRAF 36,37W,46W = W Africa and adjacent Atlantic (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** FRANCE. 21705-21710-21715, April 2 at 1455, DRM noise is the OSOB.
HFCC shows TDF ISS at 0500-1700, 150 kW at 110 degrees to CIRAFs
44SW,49NE,49S,50,54 = SE Asia (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** GUADELOUPE. 28520 USB, March 31 at 2216, FG5GP, says 100 watts,
working an AA7 mobile. QRZ.com: ``FG5GP Guadeloupe flag Guadeloupe,
ALAIN ROBERT, 14 LOT LES COLIBRIS CONVENANCE, 97122 BAIE MAHAULT,
Guadeloupe`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** GUAM. 11590, Thu Mar 27 at 1443, TWR IS, announcement. Aoki shows
KTWR at 1415-1445 in Uyghur on Mon/Tue/Wed/Thu only, followed by
Kazakh daily from 1445. Haven`t the Uighurs got enough problems with
cultural genocide by the ChiCom, without being pestered to become
Christians as well? Would the ChiCom have a preference? (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WOR)

** JAPAN. 13860, March 30 at 0656, Japanese at S8/S9. HFCC A25 shows
07-09, on two Yamata transmitters of 300 kW each, same antenna type
208, at 55 and 85 degrees both for CIRAFs 14 & 16 = Argentina & Chile
before sunrise - so are they alternates or really both at once?
Another 13860 pair at 12-13 at 290 & 305 degrees on different
antennas, 145 and 208 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KOREA SOUTH [non]. 11880, March 30 at 0134, Spanish at S9+15 still
here, KBSWR via Woofferton UK, ex-Greenville. On the edge of A25, so
further chex needed as Alan Holder points out this is missing from
their A25 sked:

``Unless there is a last minute change, 11880 kHz 0100-0200 UTC (WOF,
ex GR) has been deleted. So no more relay in Spanish for South
America. Only direct broadcasts from KOR site for Spanish. Alan
Holder, G4ZBH, Isle of Wight, U.K.``

Bargraph
https://world.kbs.co.kr/service/common/images/about/shortwave_250330.pdf

However, 11880 WOF 01-02 remains in HFCC A25 for the entire season, so
perhaps overlooked in own sked; why go to trouble of moving it from GB
to WOF only to cancel it? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KOREA SOUTH [non]. 11880, Mar 31 at 0113 check into Maryland SDR,
KBSWR in Spanish is still on second day of A25 despite missing from
own schedule, Woofferton relay presenting K-pop, VG S9+5/15 (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** KURDISTAN [non]. 11540, March 27 at 1442, choral martial music,
S7/S9, must be Turkish jammer; only that and Dengê Gel via ARMENIA are
listed anywhen on 11540 by EiBi. Aoki has Turkey only, but many
adjacent Dengê Gel listings allegedly via Uzbekistan: an age-old
conundrum. No sign of a second signal now, so DG may well be somewhere
else.

Has there been any reduxion in DG broadcasting and/or jamming as a
result of this, as reported by DW?: ``Mar 1, 2025 #pkk
#abdullahöcalan --- Kurdish PKK militants have declared a ceasefire
with Turkey two days after their jailed leader asked them to lay down
their arms. Abdullah Öcalan urged fellow members of his outlawed
Kurdistan Workers' Party to disarm and disband. The group, which has
fought for autonomy since the 1980s, is considered a terrorist
organization in the EU, US and Turkey. Turkish President Recep Tayyip
Erdogan {sic} welcomed Öcalan's overture, but warned against what he
called provocations aiming to disrupt peace efforts`` (Glenn Hauser,
OK, WORLD OF RADIO 2288)

** MADAGASCAR. 17700, Thu March 27 at 1412, YL talk, VP S5/S7 direct
but the OSOB, off by 1437 recheck. Aoki shows TWR Asia via Talata.
Lang depends on DOW; on day 5 = Thu at 1400-1430* it`s Hindi. In
depressed propagation, K=4.67 at 1500, after G2 geomagnetic storms,
exercises its low-latitude transequatorial advantage, even tho very
offbeam thisaway, 250 kW at 45 degrees (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MADAGASCAR. 15440, March 30 at 1454, S Asian language at S6/S8 is
the SSOB: HFCC A25 shows TWR in Urdu, 1430-1500, 250 kW at 35
degrees, nowhere near thisaway but T/E advantaged (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** MEXICO. 1549.815 kHz, March 28 at 0610 UT, I finally compare the
off-frequency het believed to be from XEREL Morelia, to my keyboard =
F# below Cmiddle, 185 Hz per
https://homes.luddy.indiana.edu/donbyrd/Teach/MusicalPitchesTable.htm
Previous estimates were 1549.82 but I could tell it was not .820
precisely (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MEXICO. 1549.82 or .83, April 1 at 0700, still hearing that het
against 1550 stations, presumed XEREL Morelia (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** MEXICO. 28171 CW, March 31 at 2205, beacon XE1FAS/B is JBA with
fades, preceded by 4 dashes. It`s missing from WGB, today`s update at
https://listof10mbeacon.blogspot.com/2023/06/worldwide-list-of-10-meter-beacon.html
How about the older WI5V list? That website is now intercepted as
unsafe. I know I`ve heard this one before, in 2022, 2023 and 2024, as
on Feb 28 last year, q.v.: he`s in Puebla with lots of info still at
https://www.qrz.com/db/XE1FAS

28182+ CW, March 31 at 2207, beacon, dash and VVV XE1RCS/B. This one
also missing from WGB list! But QRZ.com: ``XE1RCS Mexico flag Mexico,
Radio Club Satélite A.C., Apartado Postal 341-A, Ciudad Satélite,
Naucalpan, Edo Mex 53100, Mexico`` and: ``XE1RCS beacons on 28.182 and
50.019 Mhz. now transmiting from new site, Cerro Gordo about 70 kms.
northeast from Mexico City. This new site, Cerro Gordo is about 3100
mts. above sea level, near Teotihuacan piramids. The site is owned by
Radio Club Satelite. XE1RCS/B on 28.182 Mhz. has an AR-10 antenna with
8 watts, and on 50.019 has an AR-6 with 50 watts. All the antennas are
mounted in a 40 mts. tower with surge protection and battery
backup.``

28276 CW, March 31 at 2214, dash and XE1JAL/B. This one is on the WGB
list: ``28276.0 XE1JAL/B - Xalapa Veracruz MEX EK19mm - #0/1 (26 Mar
2025) Note: ID + grid + 3" carrier`` - and QRZ.com: ``XE1JAL Mexico
flag Mexico, Mario Rizo Campomanes, Calle Francisco Navarrete No. 8 -
B , Colonia Tamborrel, Xalapa - Enriquez, Veracruz, Codigo Postal
91050, Mexico`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** NEW ZEALAND. 13690, March 30 at 0655, S9+15/20, RNZ National ID
with timecheck ``before 8``, so still for another week on nonsensical
DST of UT+13, ex-13755. A25 sked shows 0558-0958, then 11725 to 1258,
7440 till 1650; and preceded by 17675 from 2059 (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** NEW ZEALAND. 13690, March 31 at 0620, sports on BBCWS, S8/S9;
obviously relay of RNZN via RNZP (Glenn Hauser OK, WOR)

** NORTH AMERICA. 6935 AM, April 1 at 2344, pirate music JBA vs HNL.
These say it`s Thunder Chicken Radio:
https://www.hfunderground.com/board/index.php/topic,142979.0.html
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 1670 kHz, April 2 at 1942 UT, Virtual DJ Radio low-power
relay circa junxion of US81 & US412 in Enid, on the air as always,
playing `Ghost Riders in the Sky` and then `Big John` (Glenn Hauser,
Enid, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. 95.1 FM, April 2 at 1900 UT, FINALLY, dead air in $tereo
is off the air in downtown Enid; carrier was still running as of a few
days ago, more than 3 months after Xmas with music to accompany OG&E`s
`tree of lights` just north of the Garfield County courthouse. Now the
coast is clear for CP of KOKJ-LP on 95.1, altho I have not heard
anything from the guy behind it as to progress. If, that is, the other
95.1, stay gone (Glenn Hauser, Enid, WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. Surprised to see this in Mike Bugaj`s daily FCC update
for Thursday March 28 {sic, March 27} on the WTFDA FMDX-NA list:
KJAL 91.9 McAlister OK ex KBCW-FM
KJAR 95.9 Woodward OK ex KCSC-FM
WTFDA FM Database already has the new calls, and supposedly still
classical like 90.1 KUCO, but not specified as relaying it. However,
FCC, both AM Query and LMS show both calls only as D-eleted somewhere
else! So I Contact KUCO: ``Please explain what`s going on with
McAlester & Woodward. FCC info shows these have new calls, KJAL and
KJAR, and I no longer hear KBCW or KCSC mentioned on your IDs for
KUCO. Have you sold them off to EMF or something?`` Under normal
conditions I can`t hear either of them in Enid; think I heard 95.9
under a previous previous call when tropo were up (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** OKLAHOMA. Here is FCC `paperwork` regarding transfer of KBCW & KCSC
from KUCO to something called The Christian Center, Lawton OK, dating
back to Dec 6, 2024:
https://enterpriseefiling.fcc.gov/dataentry/views/public/assignmentDraftCopy?displayType=html&appKey=25076f91936ff50701938cdac8eb0eb9&id=25076f91936ff50701938cdac8eb0eb9&goBack=N

And there is a separate Notice of Consummation dated March 24, 2025,
so just happened. And then the call change.

Thus KUCO has abandoned its FM listeners in NW and SE OK, turning over
the stations to gospel huxters, as if we need any more of those
infesting the bands! What does KUCO get out of it, in $$? The
Christian Center already owns KJRF 91.1, 100 kW, Lawton, ``King Jesus
Reigns Forever`` so KJAL & KJAR have got to stand for something along
those lines: King Jesus Always Lives? King Jesus A Reigner? Ringer?
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR) {no replies from KUCO}

** ROMANIA. 11945, 0135 UT Sun Mar 30, classical piano music, pieces
briefer than the Romanian announcements between, such as 0138, i.e.
RRI now in A25, 00-02, 310 degrees from Galbeni. Alan Roe`s Music on
Shortwave as of Jan shows this as `Radio Concert Season (Classical
music)` when it was an hour later at 0200-0256 UT Sundays on 9700
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** ROMANIA. 11820, 0254 UT Sun Mar 30, pop music, VG S9+30 direct, the
SSOB and OOFSOB. A25 HFCC shows RRI Spanish at 02-03, 300 kW, 310
degrees from Galbeni for
CIRAF 10 = Mexico. Also 11780 as alternate? and from Tsiganeshti on
15130 or 17760 unchecked yet. YET, then recites entire *B24* SS sked
with now all-wrong times and frequencies, such as this hour at 03-04
on 9740 & 9545; oops (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 9690 S9+10/30, 12030 S9/+10, 17715 S5/S8, 17755 JBA S3/S6,
Fri Mar 28 at 2300, token English from SNR active on all 4; again
delivers A25 overall sked with no language details, let alone inglés,
but henceforth should be M/W/F at 2200 on 15500 > 15520 > 17715 >
15390. Missed topic preview, but no time to listen anyway, after 2303
news starting with earthquake (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. Sunday March 30, first day of A25, checking REE new
frequencies at 2214 in Spanish, which would be amid English on M/W/F:
into Maryland SDR, 15500 S9+10/20 for us; 15520 S8/9+5 almost as good
off the back for ME; 17715 S7/S9 for S America; but no signal on 15390
for Africa - I casually checked a couple hours earlier, and I think
15390 was on then. Look forward to 15520 as backup for inevitable
failures of 15500 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 15500, March 31 at 2159, NO signal on NF to N America from
SNR for first M/W/F token English broadcast of season. Like I said
yesterday, looking forward to 15520 as backup altho off the back
toward ME, and that one is S7/S9; but 17715 to S America is even
better, S9+20. And 15390 for Africa is also AWOL! Something`s always
notright at Noblejas. Opens with different music and A25 general
frequency schedule with no details of language times, not even
English! 2202 s/on English, preview later content I can`t copy; 2203
news leading with mining accident in Asturias killing at least 5
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** SPAIN. 15500 & 15390, April 2 at 2159, again today, 50% of REE
transmitters are missing; but 17715 for S America is VG direct,
S9+10/20 but seems slightly overmodulatedistorted, better than 15520
for ME at S8/9+10. Again opens with A25 overall sked but no language
details. 2202 preview feature something about Extremadura. 2203 news
opens with EU reaxion to Drumpf tariffs (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 5960.004-, Mar 28 at 2257, VOT not off the air, IS and ID,
S9+45 into UTwente. 2300 sign/on by Efsun the axentuated as if it`s
1330 on 13635, awry, and she also voices the olds, so that`s enough
for me (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 5960, Mar 29 circa 2330, VOT not off the air, VG into
UTwente. From March 30, should be at 2200-2255v on 11785, or mistaken
9875 extended from 2130 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY [and non]. 9874.967, Sun Mar 30 at 2048 tune-in via UTwente,
all I hear are the last few notes of the North Korean national anthem.
This is about when `Letterbox` from Voice of Turkey should be
appearing on its new A25 frequency 9875 and time ex-an hour later on
9610. It`s KCBS as in B24 Aoki until 2050*, never, of course in HFCC.
VOT off to a great start. O, Wolfgang Bueschel says VOT was axually on
9870 :Somethings always erroneous at Emirler: but in this case a good
idea to avoid DPRK.

11785, Sun Mar 30 at 2200 tune-in, new A25 frequency and time for VOT
English to N America. Quite a strong signal with VOT news sounder,
then gone! Drops off the air, and never comes back during following
hour. Off to another even ``greater`` start. Next chance: 0315~ UT
Monday on 7275 thisaway and 6165 thataway (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 7275, UT Mon Mar 31 at 0302 tune-in, VOT new A25 time and
frequency for W N America, dead air at S9+35 into UTwente and off* in
a few seconds, never to return during hour. This keeps happening, why?
Something`s always erroneous at Emirler. BTW, 7275 is an INTRUDER into
the WHem hamband. HFCC okays that?

Then retune to 6165.002 which goes thataway, S9+10/25 and noisy, much
inferior, also with RTTY warble on minus side, so USB tuning
absolutely required. After olds, 0314 retune, brief transmission
break, and TRTVOTVorld.com promo; 0315 `The Pulse of Turkish Foreign
Policy`, yawn. 0323 ``always-by-your-side`` promo, music. 0329
`Letterbox` theme, opening. Same YL host, frequencies changed, ask for
details by email. It`s also Eid, first day of end of Ramadan. 1)
Angus? -?, Canada. 2) Christer Brunström, Sweden, who is surprised
there was no mention of the arrest of mayor of Istanbul, and
demonstrations. She claims they *did* report it on Wednesday in
English and all other broadcasts, and some excuse about this being an
external service? 3) Siddartha ---, 24/3 anniversary of something,
maybe polio vaccine? Incidence of something in Turkey. 0336 song
break. 4) at 0340, Mohammed -- from Malaysia. 5) Jayanta Chakraborty,
India {even he is uncertain of spelling: in dxindia posts also as
Chakrabarty}. 6) and last, -- Kelly, USA. Most or all of them request
QSLs. 0344 song. 0348 `L`Box` theme outro, music. 0352 s/off - missed
what time and frequency they misannounced, likely 1230 on 17620. 0353
IS to 0356* (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11785, March 31 at 2158, VOT not off the air, S8/S9 but JBA
vs my local noise level, IS and English IDs, so I go over to SPAIN
instead as these two insist on colliding timewise. At 2238, 11785.006
is S9+20/30 into Georgia SDR, so not needing to check it at UTwente.
Uncomfortably close to 11780 Brasil (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9875.005+, April 1 at 2044, VOT on registered A25 frequency
instead of 9870 yesterday which evaded Korea North on 9875 - don`t
detect it today, but its s/off anyway is 2050. 2048 `First Quarter of
the Millennium` to 2057 then music. Sufficient into UTwente.

11785.002, next VOT English of 2200 is not off the air, not checked
until 2234 April 1, S9+5/10 into Maryland SDR, with feature voiced by
Efsun the axentuated. Considerably weaker than 11780 Brasil, S9+10/25
providing ACI, not even evitable by USB tuning. 2254 s/off as if it
were 1230 on 17620, the usual always awry at Ankara (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** TURKEY. 17815, April 2 at 1457, Turkish talk, music at S5/S7. HFCC
shows 1300-1600 TRT, 250 kW, 310 degrees for CIRAF 27,28 = W and C
Europe; and USward beyond (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 9875.003-, April 2 at 2032, VOT VG S9+25/35; but some
choral CCI from Korea North underaudible at 2037. Not going back to
9870 as on March 30? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** TURKEY. 11784.999, April 2 at 2158, VOT IS & ID in English,
S9+10/12 direct vs S8/9 noise level, unlistenable. At 2241 into
UTwente, when measured, surprisingly not solid at all, S9/+10 with
flutter; skipping over? So trying NH SDR, showing 11785.006, S9+20/35
much better with music. 2248 break in carrier for a few sex. 2253
s/off as if it`s 1230 on 17620, awry at Ankara, IS to 2255.5* (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U K O G B A N I [non]. 9915, March 31 at 0616, English S5/S7, BBC?
Yes, //9410 about the same. 9915 is a longtime BBCWS channel but had
not been hearing it in B24 season. Now in A25 it`s scheduled *only*
for this one hour, via ASCENSION, 125 kW at 65 degrees. 9410 is also
ASC at 05-07, 27 degrees. 125 kW powers must be semi-transmitters

killing, non-electronic QSL, SASE to my QRZ address, but I will also
respond with an email promptly. It's more fun to receive QSL Cards in
the regular mail. I have been interested in radio since I was 12 years
old. Like many, I started out on CB radio but got bored of that scene
quickly. I then discovered cars, girls, work, etc. and got
side-tracked. Finally, getting licensed at the age of 36 I rekindled
my interest in radio and have been playing with it ever since. Thanks
again for tuning in to the KA3JOE 10 METER BEACON @ 28.248.7 MHZ
Please QSL, SASE to my QRZ address. Thank You & 73 Joe``

I`m afraid I had it on the plus side of 28249 like in WGB list, not on
the minus side as in his QRZ.com page (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. CBS TV 60 MINUTES, March 30 about 2355 UT as the second of
three stories after a late start, is about VOA, interviewing Steve
Herman, and Patsy W-, the Indonesian lady. And later the only
Republican congressperson, of Korean heritage, who objects to Trump`s
assassination of VOA. Briefly Dan Robinson`s name can be seen on a
screen shot of the WH website crediting him with denouncing it as
``radical``. Should be available online from CBS or YT later if you
missed it. I alerted the WOR iog about this in advance. Yes, here it
is already, two hours later, 13-minute audiovideo and transcript:

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2288 monitoring: confirmed UT
Sunday March 30 at 0320 on WA0RCR, 1860 AM, MO, about 11 minutes into
so the 0315v started early circa 0309, S9+20 into nearby SDR vs high
storm noise level even there and not really readable direct.

Also confirmed Sunday March 30 at 1900 on IRRS SW via AM Italia,
1322.996+ kHz, S9+7 into UTwente, after s/off announcement for 7275.

** U S A [and non]. WORLD OF RADIO 2288 monitoring: confirmed Sunday
March 30 at 2130 on SW Radio, Germany, 3975.002+, S9+5/10 into
UTwente.

Also confirmed Sunday March 30 at 2330 on WRMI 7780, S7/9+5 into
Maryland SDR, but instead of usual // on 7570, something else there,
seems like TOMBS. 7780 at 2342 also into S TX SDR, S9+15/30 with storm
crashes. At 2344 I am also getting WOR on 7570 into S Texas, S9+10/20,
but further chex of other remotes find WOR NOT on 7570. Maybe I am
confused by switching among too many Kiwis at once? Or WRMI is
switching back and forth, unlikely. Anyhow, WRMI skedgrid shows 7570
supposed to be on System G at this hour, but System G thinx it`s only
on 9395. WOR still shows at 2330 Sunday on System D, WRMI-13 7780.
What a confusing situation.

Also confirmed UT Monday March 31 at 0030 on WRMI 7780, S9+35 into S
Texas SDR.

Also confirmed UT Monday March 31 from 0300 sharp on Area 51 webcast,

** U S A. 9917 & 9943 approx., parasitic spurs from huge WTWW 9930
signal with TOMBS, not measured precisely but just like happens around
5085 when it`s active, supposedly two different transmitters (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7780 & 5010, March 31 at 0627, NO signals from these WRMIs,
very unusual; while still nominal on 7730.

9395 // 9955, March 31 at 0631-0633+, canned WRMI IDs looping over and
over, and slightly overlapping each other, rather than regular
programming; which did continue on only other frequencies on air now,
5850 TOMBS & 7730. Something`s odd at Okeechobee (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A. 5800, April 1 at 0104, and still 0111, this WRMI is dead
air. All others are modulating some somewhat underish: 5010, 5050,
5850, 5950, 7570, 7730, 7780, 9395, 9455, 9955, 15770. Even if only
one human be overhearing them, even remotedly, you`d think there would
be silence-sensors to warn immediately of such a breakdown. WRMI-10 is
supposed to be on System H at 0100-0130 daily with R. Taiwán
Internacional. 0147 still dead air, Slovakia sked this semihour (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7780, April 1 at 0640, and 5010, April 1 at 0644, these
WRMIs are off again, while 5950 is ON with TOMBS // 5850. Something`s
odd at Okeechobee.

15770, April 1 at 0641, this WRMI is not only on, but surprisingly
strong in the nightmiddle, S9+10 in Spanish about Checa, so R. Praga
Internacional relay? No, Eslovaquia is sked every night at 0630-0700
on System H, with Prague in English at 0600-0630 Mon & Tue only (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. Pre-`AAAWWW` chex of WBCQs, Fri Mar 28 at 2347 into Maryland

Lots of conversation between A&A this time, in favor of Social
Security once the 300-year-olds are weeded out, Angela axually
believes that? anti-Income Tax. 0011, ``we do get a little political``
but a later emailer or phoner wishes they wouldn`t, driving away half
their audience. They are boycotting restaurants after a lunch for two
in Orlando cost $95, so on strike. Angela weighs 100 lbs, Allan 150,
so they don`t eat a lot. 0018 says on 5, 7 and 9 MHz but not uttering
``trimulcasting``. Invites tune requests. 0020 plays a C&W lovesong
dedicated to Angela. 0024-0030 long call from Norm in S Florida, ``Mr
Transistor``. Again plugs their air rates having not gone up since
station began in *1998y -- not even adjusted for inflation? Instead
rely on automation to keep costs down. 0039 datestamp as 28 of March,
YOOLF 2025. 0040 & 0049 more tunes, gab, emails, FRW not arrived in
time to quote, prayer and off around 0100. Then I check 5130- and it
stays on with music until 0103*, as automated? (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A. 12050, March 30 at 0253, Spanish song S9; and also at 1456
Spanish about Jesús, only S6/S7. So WEWN expanded to long hours, at
least 14-03 UT. In HFCC, available 14-06, 100 kW at 155 degrees. Still
no English on 15610 or anywhere (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7505, March 30 at 0259, no signal from WRNO nor earlier;
what`s wrong? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 7505, April 1 at 0107, WRNO is off again tonight. What`s
wrong? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. (12160), Sat Mar 29 at 1700-1730, `Talking Machine Show`
remains a fun listen every week, via WWCR-2 stream, unlike 99% of the
other stuff on WWCRs. At 1706, Phil Patton thanks Glenn Hauser for
some nice comments about the show in DX Listening Digest - that was
*many* years ago, so an evergreen show in rotation, suspect no `new`
TMS being produced; from before WWCR blew WOR off as politically
incorrect. Axually it`s almost all musicking, not talking. Long live
lo-fi! (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 9265, April 2 at 2222, WINB is S9+10/20 but JBM (Glenn
Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 790 kHz, March 27 at 0700 UT, ``Mighty 790, KSVN`` sounded
like, but no such call listed. In NRC AM Log, the only Mighty on 790
is KGHL Billings MT, U1 5000/1800. CBS news followed and that also
fits for KGHL. Any station ending in -90 is tempted to brand itself
rhymingly as ``mighty`` (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. Re my 790 log assumed to be KGHL Billings MT, Tim Hall
replies: ``Another possibility: KFGO also runs CBS news, also uses the
"mighty 7-90" slogan, and is phonetically more similar to KSVN.`` --
Tnx, Tim, yes, I overlooked that one in the NRC AM Log. Could be, but
let`s compare their powers and direxionality: KFGO Fargo ND is U2
5000/5000, totally northward at night, while KGHL is U1 5000/1800,
i.e. non-direxional day and night.

Then March 28 at 0634 UT slightly above the pileup, local weather with
a low of 24, I think, so in the North, but no further clues, 0637 into
C2CAM. KFGO is on that net, not KGHL. Of course, by now it could be a
totally different C2CAM station.

But meanwhile: ``Latest IRCA Slogans List compiled by Kraig Krist
https://misc.kg4lac.com/irca/
lists 3 stations on 790 kHz with a "Mighty 790" slogan: KURM AR, KGHL
MT and KFGO ND. 73 Alan`` Pennington, UK, and: ``KURM is silent acc.
to FCC. 73, Mauno`` Ritola, Finland. And also as in NRC AM Log as of
last August (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 790, March 30 at 0705 UT, trying to catch whether it`s KFGO
or KGHL, after CBS news, detailed local ``weatherscope`` and IDs
instead as WSGW Saginaw MI, also on 100.5 FM - which is not a mere
translator; U4 5/1 kW on 790 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1290, March 28 at 0644-0647 UT, Mexmx and numerous
liners/IDs as ``La Máxima ... más música`` something ``punto uno FM``,
by SHVA = super-hype voice actor. Google search first on slogan and
1290 gets numerous hits for ``La Maxxima {sic} 103.1 FM`` in Siloam
Springs AR, i.e. KUOA, U1 5000/31, address in Springdale, with 103.1
of course a mere translator, K276CO, per NRC AM Log, and in
Fayetteville per Radio-locator.com with 1290 coverage maps showing it
right on the OK border east of Tulsa, apparently a smidgin on the AR
side. And address in Rogers AR. Unusual to hear it, so bet it`s on day
power in the nightmiddle. It`s 300 km = 186 stmi from Enid. Note
recently Jan 27 at 0740 I had an open carrier on 1290. I don`t find
any definite log by me of KUOA in the past 20 years. As of the 2020
census, S.S. population was 17,287, and as of 2023, that town had an
increasing Hispanic population of 4,117, or 23.8% (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A. 1420 kHz, March 27 at 0641 UT, ``La Caliente, 106.3 FM y
1420 AM`` = that leads in NRC AM Log to KBHS Hot Springs
{Manantial/Aguascalientes} AR, U1 5000/87 - dominating, sounds like
more than 87 watts. WTFDA FMDB has one frequency match for same
station, but not so hot, only ``La Zeta``. 106.3 is of course a mere
translator exalted to primacy, K292HG (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1530 kHz, April 1 at 0618 UT, Spanish CCI to WCKY, ID as on
``104.9 y 95.1, La Que Manda``, so it`s KZNX Creedmoor TX; U7
10000/220. I previously discussed its complex two-transmitter-sites
near Austin. NRC AM Log gives only slogan as ``La Raza``. Of course we
cannot be certain one slogan have totally replaced the other. WTFDA
FMDB gets no hits when searching only on KZNX in the Relay of: field.
One must enter instead KZNX 1530, getting only KTXX-FM on 104.9 in Bee
Cave. To get K236AY on 95.1 in Westlake Hills one must search Relay
of: on KZNX-1530 with the hyphen! Needs to be a bit more forgiving of
such details or more consistent. In WTFDA it`s also only ``La Raza``.
On 1530 I was really checking for the unID bluegrass/country music I
had been hearing QRMing WCKY, but not tonight (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

** U S A. 1650 kHz, April 1 at 0701 UT, still hearing continuous tone
of about 311 Hz, presumably from KSVE El Paso TX (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

** U S A. 1670 kHz, April 1 at 0655 UT, ``Black Information Network``,
i.e. WMGE Dry Branch GA, address in Macon. No problem overcoming
Virtual DJ Radio LP relay in Enid which is JBA in daytime a couple
miles away (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. In high storm + line noise level, many `regular` ND
beacons are not audible, but JBA carriers, March 28 at 0613 UT,
likely: 245 kHz, FS Sioux FallS SD; 267 kHz, HET HenryEtTa OK; 392
kHz, FMZ, FairMont NE (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1061, March 28 at 0642 UT, JBA carrier hetting
whatever`s left on 1060 without New Orleans. Not a 9/kHz plan
frequency, which would be 1062. Suspect Cuba, like the 1-kHz-off 1141
often heard but not right now. WRTH shows one Cuban on 1060, 25 kW
CMGW, Radio 26, Jovellanos, Matanzas (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED [and non]. 1530 kHz, March 29 at 0638 UT, WCKY sportstalk
has QRM from C&W music in English. Too many possibilities in NRC AM
Log, all of them non-direxional, either daytimers or low-powered at
night, so something is probably wrong at one of: KQSC CO 15 watts;
WLIQ IL 1400-D; KDSN IA 13; KQNK KS 1000-D; WYGR MI 500-D; WWDX TN
1000-D (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1530, Mar 30 at 0712 UT, bluegrass/country music QRMing
WCKY talk, presumably some station out of whack: see previous report
for candidates. Tried to DF it but nothing certain; Spanish also in
there presumably TX (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 1650 kHz, March 28 at 0608 UT, still hearing the tone,
not het, believed to come from KSVE El Paso, as I finally compared it
to my keyboard = D# above C-middle, or 311 Hz per:
https://homes.luddy.indiana.edu/donbyrd/Teach/MusicalPitchesTable.htm
(Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 7200 LSB, March 30 at 0257, music mixed with talkovers,
the naughty-ham channel; otherwise the bands are crammed during some
contest (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 7636.0, March 31 at 0625, S9 open carrier except for JBA
clix at rate of approx. 25 per minute. Too much noise on band to
detect how far out the clickery expand this time. Previously logged
March 4 and 8 at different clickrates, and several others ending in
-6. What is this? (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 9170-9217 approx., March 28 at 0620, multi-carrier
multi-tones beating over this wide 47 kHz span, peaking S9 circa 9183,
as logged recently in this same area. What is it? (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 12159-12209, March 27 at 1446, huge multi-carrier,
multi-tones beating over this wide 50 kHz range, tapering off at the
edges, peaking circa 12193 at S9+25. 12160 WWCR not on yet, but after
1500 could be mutually problematic. What is this? (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 15230, March 30 at 0657, JBA music. HFCC A25 shows Iran
at 0550-0820, also Xi`an, China at 03-09. Sirjan also at 0920-1250; DW
via UAE at 14-15. Keep these in mind when guessing unregistered Cuba
on one of its last barely funxional transmitters, most useful before
15 or 16 (Glenn Hauser, OK, WOR)

UNIDENTIFIED. 21725, March 31 at 1536, JBA carrier is the OSOB.
Nothing listed anywhen in A25 HFCC or EiBi, B24 Aoki. Believe this be
real rather than birdie as it`s right-on frequency (Glenn Hauser, OK,
WOR)
